Summary

Talogy is currently seeking a Manager, Public Safety Products and Services for our Assessment Solutions team to help us continue our exciting growth and maintain our commitment to providing superior talent assessment products and services. This role is responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and documenting our public safety offerings, such as law enforcement and fire service entry-level exams, promotional job knowledge and SJT exam processes, and assessment center processes. Additionally, this role would be responsible for direct consulting with public safety or Assessment Solutions clients (up to 50% of the job, depending upon need). Test development and assessment center experience is important for this role, preferably in police and fire selection and promotion processes.

Key functions of the position include:



  • Develop plans to maintain and enhance entry-level public safety products (e.g., written multiple-choice tests, structured interviews, personality assessments).
  • Develop plans to maintain and enhance promotional level public safety offerings (e.g., written technical knowledge tests, assessment center exercises, situational judgment tests).
  • Execute approved plans for developing, enhancing, and maintaining public safety products and offerings, with support from public safety consultants and assessment design and analytics team.
  • Conduct psychometric and validation analyses, with the support of Talogy's assessment design and analytics team, to monitor and enhance product offerings.
  • Document results in technical reports and technical summaries, including ongoing validation updates.
  • Organize product offerings and associated requirements (e.g., content, scoring) for authoring into Talogy platforms.
  • Enhance efficiency of the use of Talogy intellectual property, by organizing content libraries that can be readily accessed by the consulting teams.
  • Monitor competitor offerings and recommend adjustments to existing assessment tools and administration approaches to help lead the market.
  • Identify opportunities for new offerings to support Talogy efforts to lead the market.
  • Coordinate with Talogy marketing department to prepare case studies and other marketing materials.
  • Assist the public safety leadership team in providing litigation support services as needed when product and service offerings are challenged.
  • Support the Assessment Solutions team by assisting with job analysis, content development, presentation preparation, and report writing and reviewing tasks.
  • Collaborate with Talogy R&D department on product development initiatives as needed, such as updates to clinical instruments.
  • Support test development by participating in tasks such as item writing and item review.


The successful candidate will:



  • Hold a Masters degree in I-O Psychology or a closely related field (e.g., Psychometrics, Statistics, Educational Measurement), with a Ph.D. strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of applied experience managing assessment product and service offerings (e.g., cognitive ability tests, personality assessments, assessment center exercises, situational judgment tests) that are relevant to law enforcement and fire service roles.
  • Be proficient in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R) and data management tools (experience with Excel VBA, relational databases, and SQL is a plus);
  • Be well-versed in the use of Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint);
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Exhibit extraordinary attention to detail and accuracy in data handling/management and analysis;
  • Demonstrate the interpersonal skills to work effectively with others in the division, within other partnerships in the company, and with clients, when needed;
  • Be able to explain data and statistical concepts (e.g., analyses, findings) clearly to non-experts;
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team to complete tasks/projects accurately and on-time;
  • Manage time and priorities in accordance with a deadline-driven environment;
  • Be an active participant in the professional assessment community (e.g., conferences, publications);
  • Have experience with multi-component exam scoring, standardization, and validation processes.
