DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Student Nurse Intern Program allows nursing students to gain hands-on experience in both educational and clinical settings. While participating in this program, you will assist in resident care, report on resident conditions, and work to provide the highest level of care and satisfaction for the residents. You will not be responsible for performing any procedures that require state licensing, such as administering medication or making nursing diagnoses. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to interact with residents and their families, fostering a positive work environment through teamwork and cooperation under the guidance of a RN preceptor.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • This is a 10-week internship that will run from April to June.
  • Work hours will vary based on assignment rotation.
    • 8 hours per day/40 hours per week, with a 30-minute lunch

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Internship Requirement:

  • Satisfactory completion of junior-level nursing studies.

Additional Requirement:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
