Job Overview

The Production Design Specialist for Macy's Media Network (MMN) supports revenue generation through creative oversight of advertisers' assets in a broad range of media types. The Production Design Specialist serves as a brand guardian, facilitating the swift review of campaign assets, balancing speed and accuracy. They ensure that all standards and technical requirements are met, with a focus on maintaining the Macy's Branded customer experience. Additionally, the Production Design Specialist supports creative needs that arise for MMN.

What You Will Do



  • Review and approve a high volume of vendor-paid creative assets to ensure compliance with the creative style guide and technical requirements.
  • Communicate creative requirements and technical specifications to advertisers, providing clarity and guidance as needed.
  • Understand advertisers' campaign objectives and brand identities, offering solutions for aligning vendor-paid creative with Macy's Inc. standards.
  • Deliver final assets to the ad operations team for campaign setup
  • Serve as a brand guardian, overseeing a wide range of assets across multiple media types, including but not limited to:

    • On-site advertising (Display, Video, Brand Showcase)
    • Off-site advertising (Social, Programmatic Display/Video, Connected TV, Audio)
    • HSQ Jumbotron and in-store screens
    • Email banners

  • Assist in the production of MMN creative projects, including, but not limited to, sales materials and PowerPoint presentations.
  • In addition to the essential duties mentioned above, other duties may be assigned.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities



Skills You Will Need

Media Expertise: Strong command of various media types, including social platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, in-feed static, videos, and stories).

Adaptability in Fast-Paced Environments: Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

Written Communication: Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and actionable creative and technical feedback that is understandable to non-designers.

Digital User Experience & Accessibility: Clear understanding of digital user experience and accessibility standards.

Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational, planning, and prioritization skills, capable of managing a large workload with fast turnaround times.

Proactive Team Player: Strong ability to work independently while being a proactive, collaborative team player.

Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and follow-through, with the ability to catch even the smallest errors (e.g., down to a pixel).

Creative Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (XD, Photoshop, InDesign, Figma) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Who You Are



  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. 2+ years of relevant industry experience in production design or equivalent design fields. Retail experience preferred.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
