Position Highlights:

  • Position: Surgical Scheduler I
  • Hourly Pay Range: $18.77 - $28.84. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
  • Location: Skokie, IL
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
  • Hours: Monday-Thursday 8am- 5:30pm, Friday 7am -3:30pm
  • Required Travel: Limited Travel

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Surgical Scheduler for The Center of Pelvic Health located at Skokie Ambulatory Care Center. The Surgical Scheduler plays a crucial role in ensuring that surgical procedures are scheduled and coordinated effectively. This is a full-time position (40 hrs/wk) and is benefits eligible. Hours will be scheduled/rotated Monday through Thursday between 8:00 am- 5:30 pm, Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm. This position will also travel to Highland Park.

What you will do:

  • Schedules surgical procedures based on available time slots, patients' availability, physicians' orders, and type and length of time required to surgery
  • Coordinate schedules with time and equipment availability; identify conflicts and adjust schedules as needed
  • The scheduler is responsible for coordinating pre- and post-surgical appointments, and ensuring that all necessary information is communicated to patients and providers
  • This position requires collaboration with physicians, staff, and patients to achieve performance and targets while maintaining a patient-centric approach
  • Communicate with patients and inform them of any schedule changes
  • Efficiently manage OR block time for maximum utilization
  • Respond to patient inquiries/concerns appropriately and answer insurance related questions in a timely manner
  • Enters referrals in EPIC and work with pre-authorization team
  • Answer phones
  • Schedule, reschedule and register in-office patients
  • Review provider templates
  • Perform other functions as delegated

  • Enjoy working in a busy and fast pace team environment
  • Proficiency in multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Analytical skills in order to maintain and modify the scheduling module
  • Ability to communicate using both written and verbal skills
