Job Description

Position Summary

As a DevOps Engineer with Rockwell Automation, you will design, develop, and maintain the software build process and associated tools. This will involve working with different teams around the world on multiple product lines using state of the art tools and processes. You will collaborate with multiple global cross-functional teams and may also provide an opportunity to be the technical lead of an agile development team. As part of the Software and Control division, you will report to the DevOps Engineering Manager.

You will also actively learn about new developments in the software engineering field and will identify and pursue career development and training opportunities.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Create software builds and manage releases.
  • Maintain and update build tools and scripts.
  • Automate the build process and look for ways to improve performance.
  • Work with software developers to troubleshoot build failures.
  • Develop and documents standard operating procedures and other supporting documentation.
  • Provide work estimates and status reports as requested.
  • Maintain adequate interaction to ensure assigned tasks are prioritized appropriately.
  • Research, considers, and explores new possibilities using the latest technologies and standards.
  • Partner with others through mutually supportive professional relationships, open and direct communications, honesty, and respect.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Typically requires 8+ years of relevant software experience
  • 3 + years of experience in a software configuration management role
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • C++, C# and Java software build tools
  • Git software repository
  • Agile software development using Scrum
  • Fluent with Windows and Linux
  • Azure Cloud for CI/CD
  • Continuous integration and delivery
  • Jenkins continuous integration server
  • Artifactory software repository
  • VMware virtualization products: VMware vSphere, VMware ESXi, vCenter server
