Overview:

The Monitor Tech Lead will assist in planning and coordination of the Monitor Room operations. Serves as a clinical resource for the staff. Functions To provide direct and continuous observation of the Electrocardiographic pattern on all telemetry monitored patients. Functions in all shifts as a monitor technician in the department. Assumes duties as delegated by the manager/director. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

• Education: Must have completed a high school education.
• Licensure: Minimum 5 years of equivalent of monitor technician experience. Basic computer skills.
• Certifications: If coworker has not completed a Basic Introduction to Electrocardiography course then must complete Mercys course within 30 days of employment. Needs to be computer literate. Demonstrates competence by completion of Unit Specific Skills Check List within first three months of employment and update annually. Medical terminology strongly encouraged.
