Position Summary

PLEASE NOTE: This position is for the UNM Gallup Branch, located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM.

The University of New Mexico Gallup Branch's Community Education and Workforce Development department offers short term, non-credit professional and personal enrichment courses.

The department is seeking a highly motivated, innovative candidate who can think outside of the box on a daily basis, possesses great customer service and project management skills. This person will also coordinate and assist with day-to-day operations for students, instructors, partnering organizations, stakeholders, and the Director. The Coordinator will register students, provide continuous assistance to enrolled Community Education and Workforce Development students as they complete their certification. Ensure that students are given all the resources and tools they need for successful completion. Coordinator will also present curricula, assembles presentations, prepare materials, support and/or facilitate classes, workshops, seminars, and other training services.

Duties will include reconcile monthly accounts, prepare budget expense for the Director review/approval. May assist with grant proposals, promotional materials, and/or program implementation, administration, and reporting. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Workforce Development
  • Experience with Advisement in vocational and technical certifications
  • Experience with the UNM Banner System
  • Experience reconciling fiscal accounts
  • Experience coordinating student registration for special educational programs/classes
  • Experience in performing clerical and administrative support tasks
  • Familiar
    with Navajo and Zuni Workforce
