Job Details

The Assistant Director of International Admissions conducts specialized recruitment, selection, and yield activities for the international student application pool; additionally, this position is responsible for issuing visa documentation to admitted students. All efforts are focused on optimizing applicant and advisor relationships as well as funnel conversion rates in the achievement of stated goals (headcount, quality, revenue, and composition). This is a highly collaborative and specialized position that leverages the work of academic partners, administrative partners, external partners, and Jefferson Enrollment Management colleagues to achieve goals.

Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Student Recruitment - Partnership Engagement: serve as a contact for external international student recruitment partners (i.e. INTO, SACM); develop and maintain relationships.
  • Student Recruitment - Direct Activity: conduct student recruitment activities including off-campus, on-campus, and virtual events/visits specific to the international student population; this may include international travel.
  • Student Selection: review international credentials and documents of undergraduate and graduate applicants to calculate grade point averages and assess qualifications.
  • Admitted/Deposited Student Outreach: conduct activity related to converting admitted and deposited students to enrolled students.
  • Designated SEVIS Official: serve as a Designated SEVIS Official (DSO) of the University to issue I-20's to incoming students for VISA purposes
  • Application Pool Management: monitor the enrollment funnel for international populations to ensure that students are converting and we achieve international student growth.
  • International Student Pathway/Exchange Programs: work with University partners to ensure that international students entering the University through pathway, exchange, study away, etc. programs are issued I-20s; conduct direct activity related to issuing the I-20s.
  • Key Collaborations: collaborate extensively with academic and administrative colleagues in the recruitment, selection, and yield of new students.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • International transcript evaluation
  • Knowledge of US Dept of State and US Dept of Homeland Security systems and policies related to visa issuance

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required

AND

Experience:

  • 3+ years industry experience, 2+ years' experience w/international student admissions
