Position Details:

The Child Mind Institute is looking for an experienced and motivated nurse to join our team for our Summer Treatment Program (STP) for children with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Conduct Disorder, Oppositional-Defiant Disorder, and related learning and behavior problems. STP is offered as a three-week immersive summer session each year. Children spend three hours daily in learning sessions conducted by special education teachers and the remainder of each day consists of recreationally-based group therapy activities.

Reporting directly to the director of the program, this is a non-exempt, full-time position located in Manhattan (additional information regarding location will be provided at interview and before positions are officially accepted).

You Will:
  • Administer medication as prescribed

  • Provide first aid support to children attending program

  • Participate in regular structured assessment to ensure programming is running properly

You Have:
  • You are a registered professional nurse (RN) or a licensed practical nurse (LPN) in New York State

  • Experience in mental health programs, namely that of children, is preferred

  • Experience in summer camps, after-school, sports, daycare or educational programs; experience in organized sports, art, music, dance, theater, journalism, photography, and videography preferred

  • Nurses are required to attend each day of the program. The program runs from Monday, July 7th through Friday, August 1st, 2025. The hours are 8:30 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday through Friday. All program days will be located at Allen Stevenson on the Upper East Side of Manhattan with additional details to follow.

Pay Range

The salary range for the position is posted. Factors such as candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations affect the salary offered within this range. In addition, this salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
