Starting Pay: $51,500.00

Job Description:

As the Social Services Coordinator you will support families in our community who are seeking assistance and ensure a professional and dignified interaction while at The Salvation Army, while ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.

What You Will Do:



  • Provide ongoing coordination, leadership, and direction for the Social Services on Eagle Creek campus case management, emergency social services, Pathway of Hope, seasonal events, and Food Pantry
  • Attend and represent TSA Eagle Creek at community network meetings and committee meetings as appropriate to TSA Social Service needs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community collaborators and agencies
  • Meet with clients who are seeking assistance to conduct thorough and proper intake according to The Salvation Army policies and procedures; provide professional and thorough case management to clients seeking utility assistance.
  • Work with the CIAC Volunteer Coordinator to communicate Social Services volunteer opportunities and recruit volunteers.
  • Help prepare and maintain the Social Services budget
  • Ensure that all Social Services documentation is done promptly and per The Salvation Army policies and Procedures.
  • Maintain and submit accurate monthly statistics, financial records, and reports per The Salvation Army and other funding requirements
  • Assist in monitoring the community population for changes in demographics, interests, and needs as it relates to Corps program growth and sustainability.
  • Ensure case management with Booth residents is completed and up to date per Salvation Army Policy and Procedure.


Food Pantry:



  • Coordinate orders and donation pick-ups from food pantries from local churches stores and other places as needed.
  • Process food donations unload deliveries upon arrival and prepare goods for Food Pantry.
  • Ensure that the operation of the food pantry and its equipment meet all health and safety requirements.
  • Maintains a clean and organized food pantry and work area and keeps the building secure.


Pathway of Hope:



  • Ensure quality of local data and reporting of information that will support local, divisional, and territorial POH program outcomes.
  • Ensure relevance and consistency of POH by collaborating with the Divisional POH Coordinator regarding ongoing development of policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and outcome-based measures related to the POH.
  • Working in conjunction with CIAC Director of Development and Donor Relation Specialists at DHQ to share Pathway of Hope success stories with donors and secure donor funding.


  • Oversee annual POH evaluations/outcomes measurement and complete summary/review report to Divisional POH Coordinator.
  • Report any POH implementation challenges and work with the Divisional POH Coordinator to develop an action plan to address program development need
  • Coordinate and/or facilitate life skill courses for financial management, parenting skills, focused group Bible study, and other topics
  • All other duties as assigned by leadership


Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.

Education: A bachelor's degree in social work, or a related field required

Background Checks: The position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.

Experience:



  • experiencing working with Housing and Urban Development
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience
  • 5 years of social work experience


Certifications:



  • Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard
  • Must complete Safe from Harm training within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Must complete the Caseworker Certification Program within 30 days of employment
  • Must complete SIMS Service Point Training within 30 days of employment
  • Must complete Turbo Statistical Training within 60 days of employment


Skills/Abilities:



  • Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • High levels of emotional intelligence
  • Strong cultural competency skills

Physical Requirements Include:



  • Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity

Travel: There are some travel expectations (i.e., picking up food pantry donations) with The Salvation Army vehicles, occasional travel required for work-related conferences

Working Conditions: Work is performed in an (office, environment; "may require some weekend and evening work")
