We are looking for a Drill & Blast Supervisor responsible for developing, directing, and coordinating mining activities in accordance with the mine plan and business needs to achieve delivery of ore at a quality and tonnage to meet internal customer demands. Responsible for the maintenance and continues improvement of workplace safety, enforcement of company policies and ensuring that work is performed efficiently and effectively.

Reporting to Superintendent Mine Operations and working in a diverse team you will be:

  • Ensuring that rules and regulations and standards are analyzed, understood, communicated, Training is documented, Implemented, and enforced
  • Use of processes to ensure workplace assessment and training delivery systems achieve quality outcomes that meet the requirements, needs and expectations of the business
  • Cost & Efficiencies Review of mining efficiencies, costs, resources,
  • Monitoring, review, and improvement of all aspects of the regulatory, workplace assessment and training system, acting upon identified opportunities for improvement
  • Ensuring that the mine plan is communicated and implemented. Understanding, delivering, and receiving input from Manager, Supervisors, and the work force Filtering and promoting communication upward and downward and sideways
  • Insuring consistencies of communication, documentation, Implementation, enforcement
  • Regular and systematic monitoring against Rio Tinto Health, Safety and Environmental Standards

What you'll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive responsible and experience in mining and leadership.
  • Blasting license, or able to acquire within six months.
  • Knowledge and understanding information generated from modular mining systems or related GPs equipment.
  • Knowledge of plant and mine operations with specific knowledge of the documentation control in relation to ISO 900-1 and 14001
  • Ability to create momentum and foster organizational change
  • Developing and maintaining a safe workplace for employees and contractors
  • Ability to plan and complete work as planned.
  • Solid team member with Interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
