Responsibilities

The Legal Processing Representative is responsible for review of legal restraints information, subpoenas, Grand Jury subpoenas, Summons, and multi state and IRS levies; processing the documents required by law to restrict/or not restrict customer's accounts; providing documents and answers to attorneys and courts as requested.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all job-specific training requirements in a timely fashion.
  • Review legal documents for authentication.
  • Legal processing of child support, commonwealth, executions, all PA procedures, Judicial subpoenas, IRS summons, IRS and NY levies, information subpoena, restraining notices and release of restraining notices.
  • Answer questions from branches, customers, and attorneys.
  • Answer phone for customer service line and route appropriately.
  • Research checks and deposits.
  • Process bulk legal research.
  • Assist PA Department of Revenue (Date of Death).

Ancillary Duties:

As an integral member of the Deposit Operations Department, this position is also responsible to provide assistance wherever necessary to help the Deposit Operations Department and the Bank in achieving their annual goals.


Qualifications

Education, Training and Requirements:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • An Associate's Degree in Business or Legal Studies preferred.
  • All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Skills:

  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematical skills.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Must be able to carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Must be detail oriented and have excellent communication, customer service, organization and data entry skills.
  • Must be able to prioritize and work effectively under time constraints.

Experience:

  • At least one year of office-related experience in a legal position required.
  • One year of banking experience preferred.

Hours: 40hours/week

Compensation: Commensurate with experience plus potential for annual merit increase.
