Position Overview:

Exercises overall responsibility for inspecting, planning, programming, and implementing of the building services, painting and carpentry, maintenance of the campus and other assigned facilities.
This is a multifunction position. While the primary focus is on preventive maintenance of all building services trades, this position is frequently required to supervise tradesmen of other crafts and to direct, monitor, and approve the actions, performance, and/or products of contractors and vendors as they work for Embry Riddle.

Primary Job Functions, Duties, or Accountabilities:

  • Develops, coordinates and executes maintenance schedules to ensure service and/or repair of buildings on a frequency necessary to maintain Embry-Riddle's investment to quality standards and reliability with emphasis on safety.

  • Performs installation, maintenance and repairs relating to all systems within the building facilities and campus infrastructure. Responds to assigned work orders in a timely manner, ensures job is completed to the campus standard and closes the work order out through the iPad linked to the CMMS system.

  • Submits purchase requisitions in accordance with established project schedules to ensure ready availability of all supplies and equipment required to support scheduled projects.

  • Responsible for coordination of special projects with outside construction contractors.

  • Develop estimate of costs to support requests for services or projects for Embry Riddle.

  • Perform building maintenance functions, such as interior signage modifications, repair office furniture, maintain roll-up doors, replacing ceiling and flooring products and toilet stall hardware.

  • Responsible for the inventory and safe usage of Embry Riddle's equipment and tools assigned to the departments.

  • Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities Management.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • High School (or GED) level ability in grammar, spelling, basic composition, and math.

Required licenses, certificates, and/or security clearances:

  • Lift Certification (Forklift and Scissors Lift)
  • Aerial Certification
  • OSHA10 Certification

Required skills, knowledge, abilities:

  • 5 years of experience in general building or facilities maintenance or in the building trades to perform the duties assigned to this position and skilled in proper and safe use of tools, materials and equipment common to the trade.
  • Principles of carpentry, plumbing, painting and electrical work.
  • Principles of heating, ventilation and cooling systems.
  • Occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
