Position Title: Receiving/Cycle Counting Associate
Wage: $20.50/Hour Shift: 1st Shift Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; Monday - Friday QPS Employment Group is hiring a Receiving/Cycle Counting Associate for a plastic fabrication company in Des Plaines, IL. In this role you will help manage their shipping, receiving, and inventory operations. This role is essential to ensuring smooth warehouse functions, meeting daily operational goals, and maintaining a safe and organized environment. Receiving/Cycle Counting Associate Responsibilities: - Utilize an RF Scanning device to scan item location and item number bar codes to move product and pallets through various stages of the fulfillment process - Bag, band, or bundle products and apply an item label to each item in preparation for shipment or receipt - Unload cartons from containers, unload pallets from trailers and verify correct items in cartons by comparing items to item label. Some cartons require labels to be applied - Pick items into a tote or on a pallet and then transfer the container to the next department zone or to the packing stations - Pack product using appropriate packing materials to minimize the chance of product damage during shipment - Utilize the Company's warehouse management system to manage and locate products - Assist in Planning duties - run reports and adjust inventory, as needed - Maintain returned inventory from production - enter in report, label, and return to stock - Maintain inventory levels of assorted packaging supplies - tape, staples, labels, etc - Monitor scrap gaylords and assist with assembling truckloads for shipping out - Adheres to the company's Des Plaines safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures - Actively speaks up and reports safety, environmental or quality concerns - Maintain the cleanliness and organization of an assigned set of item locations. This includes sweeping, straightening and organizing cartons, closing cartons and ensuring all items are properly labeled - Other duties assigned by Distribution Lead include but not limited to labeling, repacking, and general cleaning duties Requirements for Receiving/Cycle Counting Associate: - High School Diploma or equivalent required - At least 2 years of recent, hands-on experience in a similar warehouse or distribution environment - Proven experience operating stand-up forklifts; certification is preferred - Strong background in shipping and receiving processes, as well as inventory management practices QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the Midwest.
