YOUR OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting Project Manager III role at our Merriam, KS office. The Project Manager III will handle complex day-to-day project related activities and support business analysis expertise across the entire suite of IT project initiatives. The Project Manager III will work within the standards for project management in accordance with generally accepted industry methodologies and be responsible for planning, execution and delivery of the IT projects in accordance with predetermined timelines and budgets, define tasks, allocate and assign resources, track and report on status. The Project Manager III will partner with the PMO Manager to assess and build out process improvements and efficiencies. The role involves mentoring and coaching other Project Managers, managing project teams, reporting to executives and the project sponsor, working with more complex and sensitive customer situations, and ensuring quality control throughout project lifecycle. In addition, the role involves gathering business requirements from project stakeholders and end users, reviewing analytic results with users analyzing data and verifying the implementation of business roles.

RESPONSIBILITIES Work with project sponsor and key stakeholders to clearly outline project scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget, and schedule



  • Manage project development from initiation to closure with accountability for project results
  • Complete work breakdown structure to estimate effort required for each project task
  • Clearly communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders
  • Resolve issues, mitigate risks and solve problems throughout project life cycle
  • Effectively manage project scope by ensuring changes are documented and approved
  • Track and report on project milestones and provide timely status reports
  • Lead, coach and motivate project team members on a proactive basis
  • Lead, mentor and train other project managers within the PMO
  • Establish and manage prioritization, resource utilization and scheduling
  • Assist in the development use cases and conduct usability studies where appropriate and necessary
  • Effectively manage multiple project initiatives concurrently.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:



  • 4+ years of progressive project management experience


  • Experience in one or more of the following: Manufacturing, Food and Beverage, Livestock, Energy


  • Experience in some of the following business processes: supply chain planning, inventory management, logistics optimization and distribution, procurement and plant maintenance, process manufacturing, sales and marketing, food safety and quality assurance, breeding and animal welfare, environmental resource management, finance, etc.


  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving and analytical skills


  • Able to learn new concepts and skills quickly


  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment


  • Exhibit sound and detailed judgment and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision


  • Demonstrated ability to be persuasive and compelling in gaining support of others


  • Advanced abilities using PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively


  • Known reputation for integrity and ethics


Preferred:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred


  • PMP Certification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience capturing business and functional requirements.
  • Experience infrastructure and software development projects.
  • Experience with a variety of project and portfolio tools and controls.
  • Familiar with methodologies and tools sets compatible with project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task.



SCHEDULE



  • The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management.
  • General hours are Monday through Friday with agreed working hours.
  • After-hours and weekends may be required based on project needs.
