Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Department of Care Coordination and the supervision of Peer Recovery Coach Supervisor (SUDs Service) the Peer Recovery Coach (PRC) provides direct supportive services to patients with a substance use disorder. The PRC shares the lived experience of recovery from substance use disorder. Must have highly effective interpersonal communications skills to interact with inter-professional staff, patients, families, visitors, and other hospital employees. Must have the skills to use the screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment (SBIRT) model approach. They will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator to patients with a substance use disorder in order to help prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery. The PRC works as a member of the interdisciplinary SUDs service. The PRC engages patients in recovery planning, including identifying treatment services and facilitating linkages to treatment. Performs community follow-up to provide continued patient engagement, support and encouragement

Education:

HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED

Knowledge:

The Peer Recovery Coach, shares the lived experience of recovery from substance use. The Peer Recovery Coach shall have knowledge of the recovery process and have the ability to engage others in their recovery by forming individualized recovery plans.

It is essential the Peer Recovery Coach have skills and competence to establish supportive trusting relationships with persons with substance use to provide hope, as well as the ability to relate to the patients as an advocate.




Salary Range: Minimum 21.67 per hour - Maximum 35.78 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
