We are excited to announce an opportunity for a dynamic and visionary Program Director to take charge of our Medical Assistant program at the Cadillac Campus. As a key member of our team, the Program Director will lead the strategic growth and development of programs, ensuring their academic quality and alignment with Baker College's mission. You will foster a student-first environment, maintaining a culture of compliance, collaboration, and integrity among faculty and students. Working closely with the academic dean, you'll support program quality, curriculum assessment, and instruction. This role includes teaching up to six classes during the academic year and up to two in the summer, contributing to enrollment growth, preparing accreditation materials, and assisting with faculty hiring and evaluation. The Program Director will also manage advisory boards, budgets, curriculum coordination, and laboratory equipment, while serving as an academic advisor and visiting clinical sites to maintain program relevance. This position requires a minimum of an associate degree and full-time employment with the sponsoring institution. The candidate must be credentialed in medical assisting by an organization accredited by NCCA or ANSI, or meet this requirement within two years. A minimum of three years of healthcare facility experience, including 160 hours in an ambulatory healthcare setting, is required. Additionally, at least one year of postsecondary or vocational/technical teaching experience is necessary. Program directors approved under previous CAAHEP standards may continue in their roles if they remain employed with the same program. Candidates must stay current on medical assisting practices through continuing education and demonstrate knowledge of educational theories and techniques. |
