Job Description
The Opportunity The Applied Aviation Sciences Department seeks a non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Aviation and Aerospace Safety. Teaching assignments may include but are not limited to undergraduate courses in aviation safety, aircraft accident investigation, Safety Management Systems (SMS), System Safety and related areas supporting the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Aviation and Aerospace Safety. The position includes a mix of teaching, and service obligations. The candidate must possess effective teaching skills at the undergraduate level, including the ability to relate theory to application through experiential learning. Basic teaching load is 12 undergraduate credit hours (four courses) per semester. The candidate is expected to develop new course materials as well as teach previously developed courses. Service duties may include student mentorship, curriculum evaluation and assessment, committee participation, and project leadership. About the department of Applied Aviation Sciences The Applied Aviation Sciences Department offers four bachelor's degree programs, each unique: Aviation and Aerospace Safety, Air Traffic Management, Meteorology, and Space Operations.
