The firm is seeking a Quality Assurance Testing Analyst to join our Information Services training team. The position reports to the User Experience and Training Manager and is a key contributor within the Information Services department of our law firm, responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and efficiency of software applications critical to our legal operations. This role involves developing and implementing comprehensive quality assurance processes, conducting thorough testing, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality applications. This hybrid position is 3 days per week minimum on-site and based in the firm's New York offices in Hudson Yards.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for testing software applications or services to ensure they meet specific standards and are free of errors prior to production.
  • Work closely with application developers, business analysts, lawyers and professional staff to understand application requirements and workflows.
  • Develop detailed test plans outlining test objectives, test cases, and testing environments.
  • Design testing strategies based on application requirements, specifications and end user expectations.
  • Execute manual and automated tests to validate functionality, performance, and user experience.
  • Identify, document, and communicate defects, working collaboratively with the training team, applications and systems analysts for resolution and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Conduct integration testing to ensure seamless interoperability between dependent applications and systems.
  • Maintain detailed records of test cases, test results, and defects specific to legal applications.
  • Update and create documentation related to testing processes and procedures.
  • Facilitate and participate in user acceptance testing to ensure that applications meet end-users' expectations and requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall quality of legal software development and testing practices.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in applications quality assurance.
  • Work closely with technology trainers to recommend training topics and paths with which match business needs and application requirements.



DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Five years of experience as Quality Assurance Testing Analyst or in a similar role.
  • An understanding of the legal environment, including a general knowledge of practice groups and legal processes.
  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently and understand when collaboration is needed.
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
  • Experience in legal industry applications, workflows, and terminology; including expert level knowledge of M365 applications and PDF; as well as document management systems, time entry and other legal-specific applications.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skill with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts and terms into terminology that end users can understand.
  • Flexibility to work outside scheduled hours (9:30 am - 5:30 pm EST) as required.
  • Bachelor's degree.
