Aspire Explorations is a program of Mass General Brigham that serves teens and young adults with social cognition challenges, including Asperger's Syndrome, High-Cognitive Autism, Nonverbal Learning Disorder, and autism spectrum disorder that focuses on helping teens develop increased self-awareness, social competency, and stress management skills. The Assistant Program Manager (APM) is responsible for managing 3-4 transition specialists. The responsibilities include facilitating the implementation of Aspire program curriculum; leading training of staff throughout the program, leading specific activity blocks (e.g., mind/body, social and self-awareness groups); collaborating with transition specialists to develop interventions, supports and strategies for program participants; modifying curriculum as needed; maintaining communication with families and accurate record keeping; and supporting compliance of program policies and procedures. The APM works onsite primarily at the program location in Lexington.
1. Attend a 40-hour orientation, all staff meetings, trainings, supervision, planning sessions, and every day of the program as scheduled. 2. Facilitate and lead required participant and family meetings, including orientation and parent conferences. 3. Maintain the health and safety of program participants and staff at all times. 4. Participate as an active member of the leadership team focused on facilitating solutions for the range of issues that can develop related to individuals, groups, transportation, the environment, etc. 5. Complete evaluation forms, incident reports, end-of-program reports, and other assigned paperwork in a timely manner. Maintain records and documentation outlined in the Policies and Procedures manual. 6. Maintain the rules of confidentiality and all HIPAA expectations. 7. Under the guidance of the Program manager, supervise transition specialists and work with staff to problem-solve social interaction, behavioral, and programmatic issues. 8. Implement curriculum and lead activity blocks specifically focused on: social competency, self-awareness and stress management. Work with transition specialists to develop individualized plans to support program participants. 9. Work collaboratively with area agencies to ensure Aspire's ongoing positive relationships with community, including school personnel, MGH staff, transportation personnel, Department of Public Health, etc. QUALIFICATIONS Education Degree: Master's DegreeField of Study: Enrolled in or graduate of a graduate program in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, or other mental health field. Required or Preferred Work Experience Prior experience working with neurodivergent children and/or adolescents Required or Preferred Have current First Aid/CPR certification.Training can be accessed through Aspire.
