Innovation is a 140 person Mass General Brigham business development unit responsible for the worldwide commercial application of the breakthroughs and unique capabilities of the System's 80,000 employees and faculty. It drives revenue generation and patient benefit through industry collaborations, investing, company creation, licensing, and innovation management for the System's Harvard Medical School appointed faculty and hospitals including its core Harvard affiliates -- Brigham and Women's Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Massachusetts Eye and Ear and McLean Hospital.
As part of the Innovator Growth Division (IGD), the Project Coordinator will support new and existing innovators, foster a vibrant innovator community, and help strengthen Mass General Brigham's leadership in innovation. Key responsibilities include executing innovation education, outreach, and engagement programs, managing project activities, coordinating events, collaborating with stakeholders, and implementing communication strategies to achieve program goals.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled in project management and communication, offering an exciting opportunity to drive impactful programs that advance innovation across Mass General Brigham.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Overall Responsibilities:
Program and Event Coordination
*Coordinate all aspects of IGD training and educational programs, including planning and executing flagship events.
*Manage event logistics, such as AV setup, catering, venue selection, speaker outreach, and attendee registration, to ensure seamless execution.
*Track and monitor project milestones, deliverables, and metrics to measure program success.
*Foster strong collaboration within the innovator community by managing logistics and implementation for initiatives like the Innovation Champion Model (name TBD).
Communication and Engagement Strategy
*Drive engagement by creating impactful content, including newsletters, marketing collateral, and promotional materials, to support internal and external outreach efforts.
*Develop and execute targeted email campaigns, analyze performance metrics, and refine strategies to maximize impact.
*Manage and maintain social media platforms with timely, consistent, and engaging content.
*Update and maintain website content to align with program goals and increase visibility.
*Coordinate and prepare presentations to effectively communicate program updates a initiatives to stakeholders.
*Edit, organize, and oversee online educational content on the central innovation platform, ensuring high-quality, accessible resources for the innovation community
*Possible local travel to Mass General Brigham sites.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • 1 - 2 years of experience with Program Support or Program management required ideally in a role focused on administration, marketing, communications, or event management
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities, working effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Docs, and familiarity or willingness to learn event-related platforms like Constant Contact, HootSuite, or similar.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive team player with a positive attitude and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with website management and basic social media coordination is a plus.
  • Experience working with C-suite executives is a plus but not required.
