The Performance & Quality Maintenance (PQM) Technician will be responsible for improving equipment reliability and uptime for the network by executing quality assurance processes that will improve the overall quality of our predictive and preventative maintenance program. This position will audit the condition of network material handling equipment, the quality of preventive maintenance, and adherence to maintenance and repair procedures. This position will provide hands-on technical support to fix identified critical issues and provide training to local teams. This position is not only a technical expert, but a mentor who will identify and close knowledge gaps at the local site level. This position will report to the PQM Manager under the Reliability and Continuous Improvement central team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
  • Provide technical expertise to audit all facets of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), maintenance, and repair at the site and network level.
  • Deliver documented post-audit findings reports to onsite maintenance teams.
  • Support corrective actions and repairs post-audit at the site and network level.
  • Provide technical leadership, expertise, and training to onsite teams.
  • Perform 13 Week PMs on critical network equipment, providing technical direction and guidance to onsite maintenance teams.
  • Monitor network critical equipment and building health metrics to measure program effectiveness and prioritize areas of focus.
  • Mentor onsite maintenance technicians by demonstrating proper processes and procedures to drive quality performance and improve network Key Performance Indicator's (KPI's).
  • Book labor for all work performed in CMMS system (EAM/APM).
  • Support Installation, Operation and Qualification (IOQ) inspections for new launch and network retrofits as required.
  • Champion the creation and/or modifications of existing PMs, job plans, and procedures as required.
  • Provide ad-hoc resource support for critical network events (i.e. sorter crashes, rebuilds, site remediation efforts etc.)
  • Promote and conduct good housekeeping.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of MHE and/or electrical experience in a conveyance and sortation environment
  • Skilled trade training or equivalent technical expertise in MHE, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or similar fields
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and alternative work schedules as needed
  • Ability to travel up to 100%
  • Experience with email and MS Office programs
  • Self-motivated and customer-centric
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively, (written and verbally) with peers, management, and senior leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of MHE and/or electrical experience in a conveyance and sortation environment
  • Robust knowledge of:
    • Automated conveyors systems and controls
    • Electrical and electronic principles
    • Blueprint and electrical schematic reading
    • Three phase electrical systems
    • Knowledge of CMMS programs
    • Preventative maintenance procedures
    • Industrial mechanical and electrical
    • Industrial Electronics
    • PLC logic
    • Industrial networking and communications
  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge in Dematic and/or Intelligrated Conveyance Systems

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods and walk extensively throughout the facilities.
  • Requires repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Requires lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 49 pounds.
  • Requires dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals) manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation).

Working conditions may include working at elevated heights, small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.

Estimated total compensation for this position:

37.00 - 42.50 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
