As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for handling incoming calls and inquiries from customers and prospects. The customer service representative supports both customers and the sales team by handling requests for quotations, processing customer orders, and providing lead time information. They must possess excellent active listening and communication skills, along with the ability to ask insightful questions to fully understand and assess the customer's needs. This role requires a self-motivated individual with a strong attention to detail and effective time management skills.

Some of the exciting things you will do in this role...

  • Communicate with customers by phone and email.

  • Timely entry of customer orders and update and release existing orders.

  • Check orders for accuracy and provide estimated delivery date.

  • Ensure order acknowledgements are sent in response to customer orders within 24 hours.

  • Provide sound judgement and timely follow-up to customer inquiries regarding product availability, order status, delivery information, or problem resolution within 24 hours.

  • Present price, credit, and terms in accordance with standard procedures.

  • Communicate shipping date variances promptly to customers.

  • Prepare quotes for customers or assist outside sales in preparing quotes for customers.

  • Interaction with outside sales and field representatives

  • Identifies errors and provides potential solutions.

  • Reports CSIs promptly.

  • Attend and actively participate in sales and staff meetings.

A must...

  • HS Diploma or GED required

  • 1 - 3 years of experience in area of responsibility

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency with excel and word and ability to learn company ERP and CRM software quickly

  • Excellent organizational skills, strong planning, and time management skills
