Interventional Radiologist for an Outstanding Regional Hospital System

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiologist to join our esteemed medical team at Mary Washington Healthcare. This role involves utilizing advanced imaging techniques and minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions. The successful candidate will play a critical role in enhancing patient care through innovative interventional strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of interventional procedures including angiography, biopsy, and catheter placements, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care.
  • Utilize advanced imaging modalities such as fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and CT to guide interventions and accurately diagnose conditions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in interventional radiology and contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental protocols.
  • Educate patients and their families about interventional procedures, risks, and expected outcomes to ensure informed consent and understanding.
  • Following medical protocols for resuscitation, bleeding, infection, or other emergency situations, when necessary.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to case discussions and educational sessions to promote a culture of learning and collaboration.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

Required:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited residency in Diagnostic Radiology.
  • Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology.
  • Board certification in Radiology and eligibility for board certification in Interventional Radiology.
  • Strong clinical skills with a focus on patient-centered care and quality outcomes.

Preferred:

  • Experience in performing advanced interventional techniques and procedures.
  • Proficiency in using advanced imaging technologies and software.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.

Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies

  • Expertise in various imaging modalities including MRI, CT, and ultrasound.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and radiology information systems (RIS).
  • Understanding of advanced interventional tools and technologies.
