Part-Time Teacher Aide, Child Development Center
Hourly Rate: $15.75
This position is an on-campus, part-time, up-to 19-hour appointment based in Champaign, Illinois.

Teacher Aides assist classroom teachers in the instructional process by reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students/children ages 6 weeks - 5 years in a child development program. Teacher Aides assist in the preparation of instructional materials and provide routine support.

Essential Job Functions:
- Contribute to each child's physical, intellectual, personal, emotional, and social development.
- Factors contributing to the attainment of this standard include:

oFlexibility, understanding and patience;
oPhysical and mental health that do not interfere with child care responsibilities;
oGood personal hygiene;

oSensitivity to children's socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds, and individual needs and capabilities;
oUse of positive discipline and guidance techniques;
o Ability to provide an environment in which children can feel comfortable, relaxed, happy and involved in play, recreation and other activities. - Assist teachers with mealtimes, including serving food and cleaning tables.
- Assist teachers with diapering with diapering and/or potty-training.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED).
- Must pass a background check as specified by DCFS section 407.110 and Parkland College.
- Proof of physical examination completed no more than 6 months prior to employment that provides evidence that they are free of communicable disease, including active tuberculosis, and physical or mental conditions that could affect their ability to perform assigned duties. This examination shall include a test for tuberculosis.
