Your responsibilities:

As an Asset Protection Manager at The GIANT Company, your mission is to safeguard the company's retail assets, including merchandise, money, and property, by investigating losses and leading asset protection efforts across assigned region. The Asset Protection Manager will oversee internal and external investigations, assist in implementing and communicating company safety and security procedures, and support shrink reduction initiatives. This role involves managing and mentoring the Asset Protection team, ensuring compliance with company policies, and collaborating with regional and store management to mitigate shrink and improve operational processes.

How You Will Make a Difference?

Asset Protection Leadership:

  • Lead and manage the Asset Protection team, ensuring appropriate staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations.

  • Drive compliance with shrink reduction initiatives, coaching store teams on best practices.

  • Collaborate with store and regional leadership to implement effective asset protection strategies.

  • Represent the company professionally in legal settings.

Investigations and Surveillance:

  • Conduct investigations into internal and external theft, fraud, and organized retail crime (ORC).

  • Partner with corporate investigations and law enforcement agencies to support case resolution.

  • Utilize surveillance and industry-standard interviewing techniques to gather evidence.

Store Compliance and Audits:

  • Conduct store visits to assess asset protection performance, focusing on shrink, safety, and theft mitigation.

  • Ensure compliance with asset protection policies, including proper signage and security measures.

  • Execute corrective actions for identified compliance issues.

Inventory and Shrink Control:

  • Oversee shrink performance for fresh and non-perishable inventory, coaching stores on shrink reduction strategies.

  • Support proper inventory rotation, backroom organization, and stock level management.

  • Leverage Production Planning, Computer Assisted Ordering, and Handheld Ordering to maintain optimal inventory levels, driving sales while minimizing shrink.

Crisis Management and Security:

  • Develop and implement crisis response plans to handle security incidents effectively.

  • Maintain readiness for emergency situations and provide training on security protocols.

  • Ensure security equipment is properly installed and maintained across stores.

Training and Team Development:

  • Recruit, hire, and train Asset Protection Associates, ensuring continuous skill development.

  • Provide asset protection training to store and department managers.

  • Foster a culture of accountability and security awareness across teams.

Reporting and Data Analysis:

  • Analyze shrink-related data and reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

  • Ensure timely review and response to corporate reports and audits.

  • Communicate findings and recommendations to regional and store leadership.

Vendor and Case Management:

  • Manage relationships with security service providers, ensuring compliance with company standards.

  • Oversee case management, ensure accurate documentation and timely resolution.

  • Partner with vendors for security system maintenance and enhancements.

What are the details?

  • Travel: Must be able to travel extensively within the assigned region and elsewhere are needed.

  • Schedule: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.

  • Reporting: The Asset Protection Manager reports to the Director of Asset Protection.
