Job Description: The Senior Software Engineer at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin will be part of Platform Engineering team responsible to develop and maintain bigdata applications including AWS Cloud infrastructure. Participate in requirement analysis, weekly refinement meetings and translate business requirements to technical details. Modernize informatica mappings to Spark based configs using bigdata components & Frameworks. Build out AWS Cloud data Architecture. Follow Agile scrum software development lifecycle. Design, build and maintain various ETL jobs. Work with MySQL, DB2, and SQL databases and with cloud data architecture. Analyze technical solutions and provide estimates for feature implements. Improve system resilience and create isolated components. Provide experience in AWS cloud data architecture through design solutions. Utilize knowledge of software engineering, computer networks and experience working with cloud technologies and infrastructures to work with cloud services and applicable uses, AWS or Azure. Administer and maintain existing data engineering pipelines to their fill extent of engineering needs. Utilize business and analytical data modeling skills to design data integration and structure approaches. Utilize languages such as Python, Apache Spark, and SQL to access and extract data from diverse sources residing on multiple platforms and implement large, complex data models by combing, synthesizing and structuring data from databases, files, API, and spreadsheets. Assure data consistency and reliability. Perform quality checks, contributes to metadata and data dictionaries, documents repeatable extract, transform and load process. Provide coaching and guidance to less experience engineers. Work with ETL, data modeling and business intelligence big data architecture. Analyze large data sets to build reports and dashboards for decisions making. Work with data bricks platform, automated deployment, CICD and distributed systems design. Telecommuting permitted. Salary $131,893- $208,520 per year.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related field plus 5 years of experience as a software developer or a related occupation. 5 years of experience must include 5 years of experience in each of the following: (1) Informatica Power Center; (2) Unix Shell Scripting; (3) Python; (4) SQL; and (5) Data modeling and ETL. Must also include 2 years of experience with Power BI or BO.
