Under direction, the Lead Principal Surgical Technologist performs advanced/lead-level surgical technologist duties utilizing specialized knowledge acquired through formal training. In addition to performing the responsibilities of the Sr Surgical Tech, the incumbent serves in a lead/subject matter expert capacity, providing support to designated specialty surgical areas within Perioperative Services. In collaboration with the Nursing Service Line Coordinator, duties include verification of specialty equipment and inventory, contacting surgeons concerning equipment and supply needs for complex cases, communicating with related buyers, vendors, and other staff concerning their service, contacting surgical supply companies and their vendors about malfunctioning or broken equipment, and providing continuing education in-service to staff. Assists the unit leadership with service-related activities and identifies opportunities to streamline the operations relative to the surgical tech role. The Lead Principal Surgical Technologist functions as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to new staff and other scrub personnel. Performs other related duties as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $83,771 - $104,191 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $40.12 - $49.90 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). |
