Requisition ID# 163475 Job Category: Nuclear Generation Job Level: Individual Contributor Business Unit: Generation Work Type: Onsite Job Location: Avila Beach Department Overview The Diablo Canyon Fire Department is an all-risk full-service emergency response organization, responding to a variety of emergencies including fires, hazardous materials incidents, medical aids, and technical rescues, as well as supporting monthly surveillance/inspection procedures for all fire valves, fire hoses, hose reel stations, fire extinguishers, and fire barriers and barrier penetrations. Our area of responsibility is the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant and the wildlands immediately surrounding the power plant. Position Summary This is an IBEW Local 1245 represented classification, which has over 100 years of experience representing employees at PG&E. If you move forward in the process, you will have to come to the San Luis Obispo area up to five separate occasions at your own expenses to complete a written exam, a physical agility test, an interview, a ride-a-long, and a fitness for duty physical before you start. We do not reimburse your expenses, and we do not pay for relocation. This position responds to emergency and non-emergency requests for assistance at all hours while on site, performs maintenance on fire extinguishers and hydrostatic testing of fire hoses, and conducts monthly fire protection equipment surveillance tests. To obtain and maintain employment, you must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen, a security background check for unescorted access to the plant, a psychological screen, a physical, and be subject to random drug and alcohol screening. PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the timeofthe job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to anindividualwill be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses orcertifications,experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreement, and internalequity.Although we estimatethe successful candidate hiredinto this role will be placed towards the middle or entry pointof the range, the decisionwill be made on a case-by-casebasis related to these factors. Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, the starting hourly rate range for this position is $58.57 to $63.19,subject to collectively bargained wage increases. Responsibilities:
