Inside the Role Interns will gain knowledge and experience through exciting and real-life learning opportunities. We are looking for high performing and motivated individuals in various areas within DTNA organizations. DTNA internships begin each summer in May or June. Interns in this role may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position subject to manager evaluations and business availability. The Vehicle E/E Integration Product Testing Mechatronics (PTM) department ensures that DTNA's commercial vehicle products are safe and function properly. PTM engineers analyze data from a fleet of validation vehicles to test vehicle functionality. Our team develops tools to assist in data acquisition, management, and analysis. During your internship, you will join an agile team to help develop tools that support the department's validation work. You will have an active voice on the team, participate in continuous improvement projects, and help identify and prioritize impactful initiatives within the department. Gather test vehicle data using industry-standard data acquisition systems. Analyze test vehicle data with industry-standard data analysis tools. Collaborate with test engineers to develop a fault injection system. Investigate the feasibility of using transcription libraries and LLMs to link driver comments to test vehicle data. Review and update documentation and create how-to guides for department tools. Lead and support efforts to foster a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and welcomingworkplace culture Knowledge You Should Bring Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program or higher from an accredited college/university OR have recently graduated within 1 year of the position start date (May/June) Strong oral and written communication skills Solid organizational skills Creative mindset Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment Preferred majors include Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering. Proficient in Python, git, and SQL. Bonus: Familiarity with automotive data standards such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet (PCAP). Excellent oral and written communication skills.
