Location: Remote or Hybrid in Jacksonville, FL

Salary range: $140,000 - $170,000, depending upon experience, bonus eligible

What work will you perform?

The VP, Corporate Sales will spearhead Landstar's corporate sales strategy, collaborating closely with agents, Business Capacity Owners (BCOs), and the field sales team. This position is responsible for developing and executing a corporate sales plan aimed at increasing Landstar's market share and expanding customer relationships across multiple service lines and industries.

Essential Responsibilities:



  • Develop Sales Strategy: Create and implement strategies to grow Landstar's market share in targeted industries and accounts, with a focus on long-term revenue growth.
  • Account Prioritization: Ensure optimal corporate sales coverage for high-priority accounts, identifying new opportunities for expansion and partnership.
  • Sales Team Leadership: Train and mentor the sales team to effectively target, pitch, and close sales with large corporate clients. Guide them in identifying and pursuing strategic business opportunities.
  • Account Planning & Growth: Develop comprehensive account plans designed to increase customer spending and share of transportation services.
  • Process Improvement: Streamline and automate the account planning and sales processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with field sales, BCOs, agents, and other internal teams to align efforts, ensuring a unified "One Company" approach to customer relationships.
  • Goal Setting & Tracking: Establish annual sales goals and monitor progress, providing guidance and support to ensure team success.
  • Impact Measurement: Track and communicate the effectiveness of sales strategies and initiatives, making adjustments as needed to achieve business targets.



Required Minimum Experience and Education:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience in transportation industry sales, or a related field



Preferred Experience and Education:



  • Bachelors' Degree in logistics, transportation, or business
  • 3 years of Truckload sales and sales management experience
  • Sales experience with large accounts



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Salesforce or CRM Experience: Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM systems is essential for managing leads, accounts, and sales pipelines.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and effectively to executives, clients, and partners. Ability to communicate with clarity across various stakeholders, including customers, regulatory bodies, and internal teams. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and manuals, and present findings to senior management.
  • Leadership & Teamwork: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop sales teams while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Financial Acumen: Ability to read and interpret financial statements, budgets, and reports to drive strategic decisions.
  • Problem Solving & Analytical Thinking: Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify challenges, analyze data, and implement solutions.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to meet with clients and stakeholders.



Certificates, Licenses & Registrations



  • A valid driver's license without restrictions is required
  • Eligible for international travel and able to obtain a passport
