Title: Lead AV Technician Office Location: Oxford, CT Shift: SECOND -- report to office daily @ 12pm Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8 hour shifts Duration: 6 month Contract-to-Hire Hourly Pay Rate: Based on Commercial AV Install experience Start Date: March 2025 *Top Requirements:* * Minimum of 5+ years of experience in commercial AV installations & leading other team members, apprentices, or installers. * Install, test, and commission a wide range of AV systems, including interactive displays, audio systems, conferencing systems, large venue projection and sound, and sound masking. * Valid State of CT License (Types may include E1, E2, Low Voltage, Apprentice, or relevant AV certification) * AVIXA CTS or CTS-I certification preferred *Job Summary:* We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead AV Installer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of AV systems, and a proven ability to manage projects from inception to completion. This role requires a self-starter who can effectively collaborate with internal teams, communicate professionally with clients, and lead on-site installation crews. If you have skills in some of the following areas, we still encourage you to apply as we look to grow our installation teams. *Responsibilities:* * Lead and oversee AV installations, ranging from single-day projects to multi-week, complex deployments, managing crews of 2-3 installers. * Collaborate closely with AV design engineers and sales teams to ensure projects are executed according to specifications and client expectations. * Communicate effectively with clients on-site, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns. * Project manage installations, including install plans, resource allocation, and quality control. * Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve service issues related to integrated AV systems. * Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints. * Demonstrate proficiency with AV signal flow, equipment functionality, and programming. * Experience with installing, testing, and commissioning custom AV control systems. * Support an Engineer or Programmer with minor programming changes. * Work with office staff to initiate return material authorizations as needed. * Support the Project Manager with site supervision of the install team, communication of daily job site status, and completion of required job documentation. * Knowledge of complex wiring configurations and/or signal flow for audio, video, control, and network systems. * Control system programming and troubleshooting capabilities. * Knowledge and use of specific test equipment for required applications. * Create, track, and complete project punch lists. * Utilize hand and power tools to solder, crimp connectors, and perform other AV system-related tasks. * Test point-to-point cabling and system functionality, and field-load code for control and DSP systems as necessary. * Implement and perform new system installations, field service, and system repairs. * Configure and integrate audiovisual equipment, including multimedia, projection systems, displays, cameras, microphones, and IP and ISDN networks. * Provide technical expertise in the integration and operation of AV equipment. *Other Qualifications:* * Strong leadership and project management skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. * Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints. * Deep understanding of AV systems and technologies. * Experience with various AV equipment manufacturers (e.g., Atlona, Extron, Dante, Biamp). * Experience as an IT Support, IT Field Technician, or AV Technician is a plus. * Passion for learning and a strong understanding of new technologies. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
