The Role

Our Insurance Consulting Group is looking for a Senior Consultant who can deliver within Cognizant's Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. As a Senior Consultant, this means partnering with clients and project stakeholders, colleagues to clarify requirements and support delivery of effective solutions; applying technical and domain expertise to solve core client business challenges or inefficiencies; developing and strengthening domain knowledge and maintaining an accurate understanding of Cognizant's industry propositions and consulting capabilities; supporting business development activities of senior leaders; contributing to the development of practice initiatives or new service offerings (e.g., Strategic Control Points, development of consulting assets); and being an inspiring colleague, promoting team motivation, partnership, and ownership for projects. Responsibilities

  • Commercially represent Cognizant as a key member of the Retirement Consulting Practice.
  • Assess retirement / annuities clients' current state of maturity at different stages of the retirement / annuities industry value stream -- across multiple dimensions, including strategy, operating model, processes, technology solutions, application architecture, data, integrations, and more.
  • Help retirement / annuities industry leaders transform their businesses.
  • Work with Cognizant leadership and client leadership to plan value-additive projects.
  • Manage economics across a couple large or several smaller projects.
  • Identify and pursue upsell opportunities with existing clients.
  • Manage RFI/RFP responses and other business development opportunities.
  • Translate objectives into defined scope and executable tasks for team members.
  • Coach team members; deliver continuous and constructive feedback.
  • Sign off on quality and relevance of retirement / annuities requirements before they go to client.
  • Identify and lead areas to build practice capabilities and presence.
  • Help to create retirement / annuities consulting practice case studies, white papers, and points-of-view through the gathering of industry best practices and self-knowledge.
  • Create consulting assets for the retirement / annuities space that can be reused with multiple clients and prospects.
  • Help lead efforts in recruitment and onboarding.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or other relevant field (Required)
  • Advanced Degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or other relevant field (Preferred)
  • 10 years of experience in the retirement / annuities industry, including but not limited to: fixed annuities, variable annuities, indexed annuities, RILAs, QLACs, immediate and deferred annuities, 1035 exchanges, etc (Required)
  • Easy to work with.
  • Strong ethics, including work ethic.
  • Track record of building and maintaining trusted working relationships with retirement / annuities client counterpart(s), both within and beyond current scope of engagement.
  • Be seen as a trusted resource who sees across current projects / work streams to the "big picture".
  • Be seen as a people leader who people want to follow.
  • Credibly can help deliver training and career development to individuals and teams.
  • Can serve as a thought leader on retirement / annuities industry best practices; manage research, development, and authoring of consulting mindshare, including articles, whitepapers, and other collaterals via traditional and social media channels.
