Location: Freeport, TX; St. Gabriel, LA; Plaquemine, LA; McIntosh, AL; Charleston, TN; or Niagara Falls, NY.

Salary: $118,000-$154,000
Schedule: Hybrid schedule available of up to 1 day remote; 9/80 or 5/8 schedules available
Relocation Available

Focus: The Process Safety Technology Engineer is part of the Global EHS Process Safety department and is responsible for leading the evaluation and solution design for the implementation of Process Safety standards for design and operation of Olin chemical manufacturing facilities. The Process Safety Technology Engineer will work directly with the Process Safety Technology Leaders to enable the manufacturing facilities they support to effectively and efficiently meet process safety fundamentals and loss prevention principles. This role provides the opportunity to develop subject matter expertise in internal process safety fundamentals and loss prevention principles as well as to develop expertise in applicable external codes and standards that serve as Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP) for the Olin chemicals organization.

Process Safety Technology Engineer Essential Job Functions:

  • Support manufacturing facilities in understanding the application of Olin process safety fundamentals and loss prevention principles.

  • Execute facility gap analysis against updated Olin process safety fundamentals and loss prevention principles through collaboration with facility resources and the subject matter owners of the internal standards.

  • Collaborate with facility resources and process safety and technology professionals throughout the organization to develop and implement solutions to effectively apply the Olin process safety fundamentals and loss prevention principles in a consistent and cost-effective manner.

  • Develop into an organizational subject matter expert in applicable external codes and standards, Olin process safety fundamentals and loss prevention principles, Olin process safety management systems, and process safety risk analysis.

  • Domestic travel may be required. For the roles not located at the Freeport, TX site, travel may exceed 30% of the time.

Process Safety Technology Engineer Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree* in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in application of external or internal codes and standards in a chemicals manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in a process safety role and experience with design and implementation of projects and process changes in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Experience in reviewing, understanding, and applying codes and standards such as NFPA 30 & 70, API 521/620/650/752/753/756, IEC 61511, ASME B31 for piping, ASME/BPVC SEC VIII Pressure vessels, etc. preferred.

  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license.
