JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, in Hershey, PA, is seeking a Part-time Research Assistant to assist with the Four Diamonds Database. The responsibilities will include entry, verification, and validation of data into the REDCap comprehensive database which contains critical information regarding pediatric hematology and oncology patients. This position will be fully remote and is limited to 15 hours per week. Qualified individuals must have the ability to perform the following duties: Compile and process source data for entry by reviewing primary sources (including patients' electronic medical records, paper medical records, and other primary source documents); resolve any erroneous, discrepant, missing, incomplete or implausible data; contact preparers of the source documents for clarification to ensure that quality standards are achieved; enter data into database and validate data entries by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or re-entering data; purge duplicate files; maintain confidentiality and HIPPA compliance as well as follow all internal and governmental regulations regarding clinical databases. Good interpersonal, communication, organizational, teamwork, time management, and planning skills to accomplish multiple tasks in a short time period are essential. Strong work ethic, responsibility and positive work habits are critical to the successful performance of this position.
