Earn: $55.00/hour Position Details: The Nurse Practitioner Position is a Master's prepared independently licensed nurse who provides medical evaluation and care to patients in outpatient settings. This activity is performed in collaboration with physician(s) and other members of the multidisciplinary health care team. The nurse practitioner practice includes taking histories and physical examinations, ordering and interpreting data obtained from diagnostic tests and laboratory studies, ordering the appropriate medications and treatments and providing patient and staff education. It also includes in-depth documentation through written progress notes and dictation summaries using electronic health records. The nurse practitioner maintains a high level of clinical competence in an area of specialty practice integrating the art and science of both nursing and medicine into practice. In addition, the nurse practitioner is expected to work with members of the community health care team. * Assessment and diagnosis including obtaining a complete health history, performing a physical exam, order and interpreting screening and laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures, making a diagnosis, and formulating a patient centered plan of care. * Interventions, including treating health concerns, providing patient/family education, providing follow up care, consultation with other health care professionals and making referrals. Perform advanced procedures that are listed in Scope of Practice document and approved as a part of the credentialing process. * Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of prescribed treatment plan. Using the most current evidence modify the plan of care based on the effectiveness of treatment and the patient /family response to the plan. * Participate in scholarly activities including evidenced based programs, research, publications, and outreach education. * Participate in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriate educational offerings. Act as preceptor and mentor to support the development of nurses, nurse practitioners, students, and other health care providers. * Demonstrate commitment to patient safety by speaking up about safety issues and changing practices to enhance safety. Share errors through system reporting mechanisms and demonstrates shared accountability for safe practices. * Show commitment to an integrated care setting.
