The Foundation Brake Design Lead is responsible for supervising a team of engineers in the design, development, validation, and release of brake calipers, brake discs and parking brake systems. The position will include all aspects of component design to ensure all system and vehicle level functional objectives are met. Job responsibilities include but not limited to managing the release of the components, bill of material, CAD drawings, design verification plan, physical testing, management of suppliers, issuing change notices, vehicle build support, issue resolution, and PPAP. The Design Lead will perform up-front feasibility assessments with the Advanced Vehicle Engineering for new programs and develop and maintain design practices, lessons learned, DFMEAs, and DVP&Rs for brake calipers, brake discs, parking brake levers, cables, and parking actuators. The Design Lead will lead engineers and designers in development and releasing process to ensure preferred practices are utilized in new designs and verify manufacturing and assembly feasibility with Supplier Quality Engineering.
