Maintenance Cell Lead - Milwaukee, WI:

As part of the maintenance Cell Lead, assists Maintenance Team Leader and Maintenance Planner with all cell activities. This position is designed to provide leadership (at the cell level) to ensure efficient and effective Maintenance support to the Plant.. The Cell Lead position combines advanced level maintenance skills and leadership skills. Leadership skill requirements include providing direction, motivation, problem solving ability, organization, and coaching to all team members in the cell. In addition, the Cell Lead is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of maintenance are being addressed daily.

Pay:

  • Pay rate- $30.44

  • 12 hour night shift opening only

What your day will look like:

  • Oversee that safe practices are in use by Mechanics while performing Maintenance tasks.
  • When necessary, review non-standard work with involved Mechanics and TLs.
  • Review and assign resources to follow up on all cell audits: 5s, FSRA, Safety, and others like these.
  • Prioritize reactive maintenance work activities based on personnel availability and skill.
  • Oversee and monitor execution of planned work based on equipment availability and downtime.
  • Monitor employees' work (skill) levels and review work performance.
  • Responsible for work execution of their team members: timely completion of WOs, parts ordering follow up, MAXIMO logging of work. Involve TL to address job performance inconsistencies.
  • Assist maintenance Mechanics with troubleshooting and the installation, maintenance, repair and replacement of machinery, work tools and equipment. Train other Mechanics with less experience in the mastery of job skills, which will allow them to advance.
  • Identify training gaps within their Maintenance team and work with Maintenance TL to address.
  • Requisition training material from Mechanics based on specialized skills.
  • Must provide training to other team members in the plant when needed.
  • Responsible for communicating elements that need Maintenance TL attention: reliability, morale, scorecard, job performance, and others as suitable.
  • Continuously examine systems and facilities. Analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.
  • Monitor tool inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops in order to ensure adequate working conditions.
  • Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, and replacement parts.
  • Enable team members to complete any SM activities or CI committee support: cover their cells' needs, provide leadership when applicable.
  • Provide daily communication to cell team members of relevant information.
  • Pass down of previous shift performance.
  • Attend all work cell and plant meetings.
  • Must be flexible to work any shift or weekend hours as needed (for example, may be required to begin shift early for effective pass down of shift to shift information).
  • Responsible for scheduling vacations within their shift and asking for vacation coverage when needed.
  • Responsible for coordinating staffing for weekend work.
  • Complete additional work assignments as assigned by Team Leader and Planner.

What you have to offer:

  • EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED.
  • EXPERIENCE 5 years of maintenance experience.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: The position requires the ability to read WMS label, packaging slips, bill of lading, and documents such as work and safety rules and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate problems and directions clearly to lead co-workers.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve diverse procedural problems within well-defined standards by selecting from learned responses.
  • COMPUTER SKILLS: Basic computer skills.

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including: standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
  • Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
  • Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required
  • Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
  • Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
  • Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
