What You Will Do:
Gannett Fleming TranSystems is seeking a Senior Project Geotechnical Power Engineer to join our Geotechnical Dams & Hydraulics Group in Phoenix, Arizona! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Phoenix Office.
Gannett Fleming TranSystems Geotechnical Dams & Hydraulics teams provide expertise to tackle the most challenging geotechnical assignments across the Nation. We deliver innovative solutions for foundations, earth structures, groundwater resources, dams, underground construction, and building sites. We excel in designing building and transportation infrastructure, addressing landslides, sinkholes, mine subsidence, slope stability, and seepage issues.
What you'll be challenged to do:
This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated Senior Geotechnical Power Engineer who thrives in a collaborative team environment. The role highlights a customer-focused mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional quality and results on every project.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Lead geotechnical staff in planning and overseeing field explorations, construction projects, laboratory testing, geotechnical design and analysis of shallow and deep foundations, slope stability analyses of landslides, settlement estimates, design of earth retaining systems, and ground improvement assessments for complex sites.
  • Develop or review full design packages with geotechnical reports, calculations, drawings, specifications and cost estimates.
  • Provide technical direction to less tenured staff.
  • Work in a team environment providing geotechnical engineering services and leadership.
  • Lead geotechnical engineer and/or project manager for a wide variety of engineering projects supporting public and private sector clients.
  • Develop proposals and participate in other business development activities.
  • Assist senior staff in managing client relationships, including business and new client development to expand the scope of our existing services.
Education | Experience:
What you will bring to our firm:
* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
* Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience post-graduation, preferably in the Power Delivery sector.
* P.E. in Arizona is required, or ability to obtain in first 6 months of hire.

* Experience with Microsoft Office applications, gINT, ALLPILE, GEO-SLOPE, GRLWEAP, LPILE, SLIDE, FAD Tools, SHAFT, SETTLE3D software.

What we prefer you bring:

* Master's Degree with a Geotechnical focus is strongly preferred
* Previous role with supervisory duties.
* Strong leadership skills and willingness to lead engineering / geology teams.
Compensation:
The range for this position is salary range is $110,000 - $150,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
