About the Role:

The Senior Regulatory Specialist (Sr. Product Integrity Specialist) will be responsible for regulatory compliance of ingredients and formulas within the Ferrero North America products portfolio. This position will be a crucial business partner to Product Development, Quality, Raw Material, Marketing and Food Law teams ensuring product compliance with all applicable regulations and internal standards. The role will manage the approval of specifications and contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes including process standardization, standards creation, and formula integration efforts of acquired brands. This position will be a part of the R&D group, working in a highly dynamic and international environment in our R&D offices in downtown Chicago.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance to support new product development, product reformulations and updates to existing products per regulatory and business requirements/changes.
  • Keep abreast of FDA and CFIA regulations, providing regulatory and technical interpretation of regulations/standards and their application in collaboration with Product Development, Raw Material, Commercialization, Food Law, Procurement and Quality teams.
  • Generate and manage nutrition information to support product design and product labeling.
  • Creation of technical documentation for labeling purposes and to support stakeholder requests.
  • Regulatory compliance and technical scientific support to the Legal Department on matters related to labeling and claims.
  • Maintenance of accurate, up-to-date records and databases and ensuring data integrity; ensure raw material and finished product specifications are accurate and compliant with regulations.
  • Management of workflows of ingredients, formulas, nutrition and labeling specifications approvals on regulatory technical systems (e.g. Devex, Genesis).
  • Initiation and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within the area of responsibility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Who we are looking for:

  • B.S. in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry or related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years' of relevant regulatory affairs experience in the food industry.
  • Excellent working knowledge of FDA and CFIA regulations. Basic knowledge of international (Caribbean region) labeling regulations desired.
  • Strong passion for creativity and innovation in a complex driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Genesis Foods and the PLM software Devex is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.


Compensation Data

The base salary range for this position is $102,000 - $150,658 annually.Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.

In addition to base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other benefits.
