The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. This list of duties is illustrative only, and is not a comprehensive listing of all the functions and responsibilities performed.
SALARY:$700.00 per credit hour
POSITION SUMMARY This is an adjunct faculty, position that reports to the Director of Technical Education and the Dean of Technical Education. This individual will be responsible for teaching construction trades courses assigned by the director. This position may also include teaching similar courses for the New Mexico Youth Challenge Academy.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teaching introduction to residential construction including framing, drywall, concrete and formwork, measurements, home interiors and exteriors.
- Teaching basic plumbing including piping materials, installation, cleaning, rejuvenation, and basic codes.
- Teaching print reading skills.
- Teaching tool safety.
- Preparation of lesson plans, syllabi, and Canvas shell.
- Tracking student attendance.
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and lab facilities.
- Maintaining and imputing grades.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Four years of full-time work experience in the field or a two-year associate degree plus two years of full-time work experience in the field or a combination of industry certifications, education, and field experience totaling four years.

Working Conditions
-
Work is done both indoors and outdoors, hot & cold temperature environments, requires lifting up to 80 pounds, carrying objects of up to 50 pounds. Work is performed in a non-smoking facility.
