We have an opening for a Director, Finance and Operations Systems.
The Director, Finance and Operations Systems works under direct supervision of the Managing Director of Enterprise Systems. The Director oversees delivery and management of all platforms and tools used and owned by the Firm's Finance Department, as well as leads the Finance and Operations Systems team and their efforts in support of key projects, technical administration and effective management of systems owned.
In this capacity, the Director, Finance and Operations Systems will:
- Day to day oversight of the Finance and Operations Systems team. Ensures the team is being responsive to the business and maintains a strong customer focus. Tracks and manages the work each member of the team is focused on and makes sure we are fully leveraging all resources;
- Guide the evolution of the team so that it has the expertise and resources to deliver on projects and is knowledgeable in the relevant technologies. Mentor and support each individual. Actively work with them to support their success at the firm. Set and track clear, attainable performance goals for each;
- Direct the efforts of the team around key projects for the business. These include new tools for ebilling, collections, management of proformas, budgeting, etc. Ensure each is effectively managed and that we deliver for the business within he time and budget set. See to it that our partnership with the business is highly collaborative and that we are acting as true partners providing the expected guidance and feedback;
- Effective ownership and technical administration of the Firm's accounting platform, 3E along with related tools and modules. Lead and track ongoing enhancements and refinements. The team should have a strong understanding of the product roadmap and capabilities;
- Ensure the health, security and stability of all platforms and systems assigned. Manage patches and upgrades, Be fluent in the roadmap of these solutions and make recommendations to the Managing Director of Enterprise Systems and others around opportunities to improve them, address limitations and extend their use;
- Lead engagement with the business around all other new solutions and service offerings;
- Regularly reports progress up to the Managing Director of Enterprise Systems;
- Demonstrate an understanding of our SDLC, change management and incident management processes. Ensure the team has the same understanding and that these processes and best
- practices are closely followed;
- Regularly engages with other IT teams, InfoSec, and Vendor Management in support of new solutions;
- Owns relationships with key vendors. Helps manage contract renewals; and
- Budgeting and forecasting for the team.
Proficiencies:
- Strong manager and leader;
- Skilled at managing complex projects and driving them to completion;
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills; and
- Strong understanding of the legal Financial Systems space. Be familiar with trends and new developments.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience;
- Law firm experience (required); Understands the revenue cycle and how the various teams across Finance operate;
- At least 15 years of experience in information technology;
- 3+ years developing, managing and leading a technology team;
- 3+ years working with legal Financial systems;
- 3+ years successfully delivering complex technology projects;
- Experience with cloud-based solutions (preferred);
- Strong communication and documentation skills;
- Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills;
- Experienced in budgeting and forecasting; and
- Experienced in project tracking and reporting.

The salary wage range that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $179,200 and a maximum of $233,500 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
