Description
The Shipping Supervisor position is responsible for all production, quality and cost. This position requires a hands-on ability to dive into the shipping and receiving operation, while operating in a safe environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, organize, direct and run daily shipping/receiving operations
- Plan operator assignments and manage the outbound control log
- Supervise the put-away of finished goods and raw materials
- Must be flexible to work in other departments and/or on projects as needed during off-peak seasons
- Take responsibility for planning, output, standard costs and quality
- Supervise a team of forklift operators
- Complete forklift train the trainer certification
- Support the shipping manager and act as a backup to the shipping manager
- Contribute to the inventory counting process
- Collect, monitor and analyze operational data to trigger corrective actions
- Manage daily production paperwork flow and completion, including agency temporary data
- Promote a trusting and positive working culture in the facility
- Commit to facility safety procedures
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Extremely strong organization skills and a proven ability to multi-task
- Strong management skills, ability to work with a large flow of temporary staff
- Ability to analyze and adjust data to meet production standards
- Positive attitude willing to lead by example with commitment to excellence
- Adequate knowledge of business and management principles
- Familiarity with manufacturing operations and forklift trained
- Adaptability and flexibility with ever changing business needs
- Ability to professionally communicate within all levels of the organization
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- High School Diploma
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
