Process Engineer

Danfoss is excited to offer a career opportunity as a Process Engineer (Test Lab) in our Ames, IA facility. In this position, the Process Engineer will be responsible for the scheduling of test lab activities and driving efficiency in the delivery of test data through process optimization.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Project Management (Local and Global)
• Planning Test Lab activities and resource management
• Drive test stand maintenance schedules and processes
  
  
  
  • Collaborate with Test Lab Technicians and Product Engineers to define test requirements
  
  
  
  
• Optimize data acquisition and PLC functionality
• Drive test lab process optimization and improvements using lean principles
• Become an expert of common internal standards and test methodologies
• Support global Hydrostatics projects
• Develop, document, and monitor internal lab standards
• Training and development for technicians & interns
• Work with vendors to manage the purchase of equipment, materials, or parts
• Design and facilitate the fabrication of custom test fixtures
• Leading 8D problem-solving efforts

Required (basic) qualifications

• BA/BS Degree specialized in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Agricultural Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience in Test Lab/Manufacturing environments
• 1+ years of experience in Test Lab/Manufacturing environments
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and ability to read/draw hydraulic schematics
• Experience driving process optimization in a laboratory/manufacturing environment
• Comfortable using common shop tools

Preferred qualifications

• Previous experience working in a test lab or technical field
• Completed internship or experience in relevant field
• Prior experience working with Dewesoft DAQ
• Prior experience working with Siemens PLCs
