The Associate Mainframe Engineer is an entry-level position designed for individuals who are eager to learn and develop their skills in maintaining and supporting mainframe systems that are critical to our business operations. This role provides the opportunity to work under the guidance of senior engineers and gain hands-on experience with the setup, maintenance, and optimization of mainframe infrastructure. You will collaborate with IT teams to help ensure the mainframe systems are running efficiently and securely, contributing to the overall success of the company.

  • Data Backup & Recovery: Support data management processes, including backups and disaster recovery strategies, to ensure the integrity and availability of business-critical data.
  • Collaboration with IT Teams: Work closely with various IT teams to understand system needs and assist in the design and implementation of effective solutions.
  • Training & Development: Participate in ongoing training to enhance your technical knowledge of mainframe systems, security protocols, and industry best practices.
  • Documentation: Help maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to ensure knowledge sharing and adherence to standards.
  • Vendor Coordination: Assist with the evaluation and implementation of mainframe-related tools and solutions provided by external vendors.
  • Mentorship: Receive mentorship and guidance from senior engineers to build a foundational understanding of mainframe operations and best practices.
  • System Optimization: Support the optimization of mainframe performance by participating in resource allocation, workload management, and system tuning processes.
  • Security & Compliance: Assist in the implementation of security measures on mainframe systems, including monitoring for vulnerabilities and supporting data encryption and access controls.


  • Strong interest in mainframe technologies, system administration, and infrastructure management.
  • Familiarity with basic scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with diverse technical groups.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Passion for continuous learning and professional development.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.


Location

Hybrid defined as three (3) or more days per week in the office.
