Who YOU Are:

The Application Specialist for the Data Intelligence team plays a key role in supporting, processing, and optimizing data-related tasks and business intelligence initiatives. This role is responsible for executing recurring and ad hoc data jobs, including data analytics, data cleanup, data quality control, data imports, and data migrations from mergers and acquisitions (referred to as "conversions"). The Application Specialist will leverage both proprietary and third-party tools to ensure data accuracy and accessibility while supporting business users with data-driven insights.


Responsibilities

Data Processing and Management
  • Perform recurring and ad hoc data processing tasks, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from various sources.
  • Conduct data cleanup, validation, and quality control to ensure high data integrity and compliance with business requirements.
  • Execute data imports, migrations, and conversions from acquired businesses into existing business applications.
  • Support data operations by working with large datasets in CSV format and database-driven sources.
Application and Tool Utilization
  • Work extensively with T-SQL on Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Access for database management and querying.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel for advanced data processing and analysis.
  • Develop small-scale applications or scripts to manipulate and model data where necessary.
  • Apply knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform for automation and integration tasks.
  • Utilize cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform to support data processes and analytics.
  • Support data visualization initiatives using Google Looker and Microsoft Power BI.
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data needs and provide solutions that enhance business intelligence and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the Data Intelligence team to improve data workflows, reporting, and overall data governance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to increase efficiency and accuracy in data processing.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and best practices in data management and analytics.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in data analytics, database management, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in T-SQL on Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Access.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data processing and analysis.
  • Familiarity with working with large datasets in CSV and database formats.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform preferred.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Google Looker or Microsoft Power BI preferred.
  • Basic programming or scripting skills (e.g., Python, VBA, .NET, C# and/or PowerShell) are a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
