Vison Tools (V60) is a company-specific image analysis software. Applications cover a nearly unlimited range of inspection, identification, and robot guidance tasks primarily aimed at the automotive industry.

Are you our Technician Engineer?

This role reports directly to the General Manager of the Application Center and is a remote position with travel requirements. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in commissioning, maintaining, and optimizing advanced machine vision systems at customer sites. Your ability to manage multiple priorities, troubleshoot complex systems, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams will ensure successful project implementation and customer satisfaction.

Here's how you'll make an impact:

  • Commission and maintain complex machine vision systems at customer sites in the automotive manufacturing and supply sectors, including at BMW USA, both domestically and internationally.
  • Perform installations, adjustments, software configurations, error analysis, and troubleshooting, including:

    • Mechanical and electrical installation of cameras, lights, and related hardware
    • Camera and lighting adjustments
    • Configuration of system devices
    • Image evaluation programming with V60
    • Setup and testing of communication interfaces (ProfiNet, OPC, TCP/IP, or similar)
    • Full-system testing and troubleshooting

  • Independently coordinate and execute machine vision projects, including:

    • Scheduling installation, adjustment, and commissioning dates
    • Defining task and interface specifications
    • Identifying and communicating deviations from project scope

  • Prepare project documentation and conduct training sessions for customers and internal teams.

To Succeed, You Will Need:

  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automation technology, mechatronics, information technology, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent vocational training with extensive relevant experience).
  • Experience with PLC or high-level programming languages is a plus and will accelerate your learning curve.
  • Motivation to develop into a machine vision specialist role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a structured, goal-oriented approach.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
  • Availability for occasional weekend work as needed.

In Return, We Offer you:

At Atlas Copco, we know that work is more than just a job. Here's what we offer to keep you happy, healthy, and inspired:
