POSITION SUMMARY:



  • The Journeyman, CBA reports to the Installation Manager
  • Located in Bedford Park, IL
  • Full-Time



As a Journeyman within the Carpenter's Building Association (CBA), you will play a key role in contributing to the success of construction projects through your advanced carpentry skills and experience. This position requires a candidate with a proven track record in carpentry, a focus on safety, and a dedication to achieving project goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carpentry Expertise:



  • Utilize advanced carpentry skills in the construction of structures and components.
  • Interpret and follow construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.


Project Contribution:



  • Work collaboratively with the project team to achieve project goals and timelines.
  • Contribute to the efficient and effective completion of construction tasks.


Quality Craftsmanship:



  • Ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship in all carpentry work.
  • Conduct quality control inspections to verify compliance with project specifications.


Safety Compliance:



  • Adhere to and promote strict safety protocols on construction sites.
  • Participate in safety training programs and maintain a commitment to a safe working environment.


Team Collaboration:



  • Collaborate with fellow carpenters, apprentices, and other team members.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced team members.


Material Handling:



  • Efficiently handle, transport, and organize construction materials.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of carpentry tools and equipment.


Problem Solving:



  • Address and resolve challenges and issues that arise during construction.
  • Contribute to problem-solving initiatives to keep projects on track.


Documentation:



  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any deviations from project plans.
  • Document progress and challenges for reporting purposes.



COMPETENCIES:



  • Advanced carpentry skills and expertise.
  • Commitment to safety practices in a construction environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively.



QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:



  • Completion of a recognized carpentry apprenticeship program, or equivalent military or practical experience.
  • Journeyman certification or equivalent credential in carpentry.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Journeyman Carpenter in the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and construction standards.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.

The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate's unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark's' benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
