In this role, you will play a pivotal part in transforming Western Union's digital payments landscape. By leading adoption of risk strategies across payment channels, optimizing user experiences, and integrating advanced analytics, you will deliver world-class solutions that enhance speed, security, trust, convenience, and accessibility for customers worldwide. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new product risk strategies and roadmaps that align with Western Union's digital transformation goals, ensuring compliance and fostering market expansion.

Role Responsibilities



  • Digital Payments Risk: Design, develop, and implement innovative risk solutions, across digital wallets and real-time payments, to meet evolving customer needs.
  • Customer-Centric Design: Map customer journeys to identify risk pain points and optimize user experiences across digital platforms. Lead the creation of intuitive, consistent omnichannel payment experiences.
  • Data Integration and Personalization: Leverage behavioral analytics to understand customer preferences, payment habits, and associated risks, enabling personalized solutions.
  • Compliance-Embedded Development: Ensure new payment products are developed with embedded risk and compliance controls to mitigate fraud and adhere to regulatory standards.
  • Product Strategy and Market Expansion: Conduct competitive analyses to stay ahead of market trends, align product roadmaps with strategic risk objectives, and support geographic market expansions by addressing local regulatory and customer needs.
  • Agile Development Leadership: Drive rapid prototyping, iterative product enhancements, and continuous improvements to meet emerging customer and market demands.


Role Requirements



  • Experience and Expertise:

    • 10+ years of experience in digital payments, risk product, or a related field.
    • 5+ years of leading teams with people managers.
    • Proven expertise embedding risk strategies in new payment channels, such as digital wallets and real-time payments.
    • Demonstrated ability to enhance user experiences by reducing friction through customer journey mapping and data-driven insights.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements and experience embedding compliance into product design.


  • Strategic and Leadership Skills:

    • Adept at creating and executing product risk strategies aligned with organizational goals.
    • Skilled in conducting competitive analyses and identifying market opportunities for innovation in risk prevention.
    • Proven success in leading cross-functional teams to deliver customer-centric solutions.


  • Technical and Operational Skills:

    • Proficiency in agile methodologies, rapid prototyping, and continuous product improvement.
    • Experience delivering seamless omnichannel user experiences by integrating advanced data and technologies.


  • Personal Attributes:

    • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for improving accessibility, speed, security and convenience in payments.

Salary

The base salary range is $170,000-$200,000 USD per year, total on target compensation includes a base salary plus long-term and short-term incentives that align with individual and company performance.
