GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Grants & Community Resources Manager is responsible for coordinating the organization's efforts to secure government grants and other funding opportunities such as corporations, trust, foundations and affiliate programs. Additionally, this person will dedicate a portion of time towards community resources for the Natural Resources & Sustainability Department addressing community needs and the city's sustainability action plan goals. Work is performed under general supervision - the incumbent normally receives little instruction on routine work and general instruction on new projects and assignments; work is reviewed periodically and is evaluated through meetings, review of programs, and results achieved.


Examples of Duties

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Serve as the organizational lead for all grant management, guiding the strategic identi?cation, application, and administration of grant opportunities in alignment with mission and priorities.

Conduct comprehensive research into grant opportunities and develop a tracking database for opportunities, deadlines, and criteria while working with leadership to determine best ?t opportunities for the affiliate.

Draft of grant proposals, collaborating with leadership and relevant departments to ensure applications are compelling, data-driven, advocacy-centric and true to the strategic goals and ?scal needs of each program.

Oversee grant reporting and compliance procedures, ?nancial tracking, and performance analysis. This includes progress and annual reporting, as well as measurement of progress toward deliverables.

Act as the main point of contact for all grant related deliverables and activities and cultivate cross-departmental collaboration by employing clear communication of needs and objectives.

Provide training and support to relevant affiliate staff on grant processes and compliance and assist in the development of tools for ongoing data tracking and maintenance for reporting purposes.

Produce cash ?ow projections and other reports to integrate grant funding into the organization's annual budget and strategic plans, emphasizing the use of data for decision-making and planning.

Utilize data analytics to identify funding trends, assess opportunities and challenges, and advise on aligning grant-seeking efforts with organizational strategies and programmatic initiatives.

Ensure interdepartmental compliance and effective reporting, with an emphasis on leveraging internal funds.

Undertake additional responsibilities as needed, with a focus on supporting organizational goals and improve grant and funding management processes.

Ability to demonstrate proficiency in the City of Winter Park Core Competencies.

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and keep accurate records.

This position is performed with working knowledge - the incumbent has ability to recall and apply important and commonly-used information from relevant source documents or information in a particular subject field.


Typical Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in related field supplemented by a minimum of three years' experience in grant writing and management.

Experience with government grants and affordable housing, or community programs preferred.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities and other competencies required for the position may be considered.

CERTIFICATIONS, TRAINING, SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Experience working in a collaborative environment with a strong emphasis on strategy and tactics.

Experience working under simultaneous and competitive deadlines.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Physical

This is light work requiring the exertion of 0 - 20 pounds of force occasionally and 0 - 10 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, and reposition objects.

Ability to traverse about an ADA accessible office setting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Ability to remain stationary at a keyboard for extended periods of time and continuously operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.

Ability to manipulate objects and demonstrate small, precise movements repetitively.

Environmental

Tasks may require infrequent exposure to adverse environmental conditions including inclement weather, sun, extreme temperatures, odors, dirt and dust, loud noises, and hazardous chemicals, etc.

Tasks require the manipulation of objects and demonstration of small, precise movements, the ability to detect and distinguish various features of one's surroundings, and the ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with others.
